YouTube to MP3 in three lines

Paste the YouTube link into the box at the top. Tap an MP3 bitrate from the list. Save the file from the new tab that opens.

That's the whole process. No account, no app, no extension. The tool looks the video up the moment you tap the button, shows its title and length so you can confirm it's the right one, then lists every audio and video option side by side. The rest of this page covers bitrates, phone-specific steps and what to do when something doesn't work.

What you get

Everything the converter does, at a glance.

  • Free to use

There's no paid tier and nothing to unlock. Every bitrate and every video quality is open to everyone, every time you visit.

  • MP3 up to 320 kbps

Choose 320, 256, 192, 128 or 64 kbps. Go high for music you actually care about, go low for spoken word when storage is tight.

  • No sign-up

You don't create an account or hand over an email address. Paste the link and go.

  • Phones and computers

Runs in any modern browser on Android, iPhone, iPad, Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook. Nothing to install, nothing to update.

  • MP4 in the same box

Need the picture too? The same results list shows MP4 in 144p, 240p, 360p, 480p, 720p and 1080p. Every video quality includes sound, and its file size appears before you tap it.

  • Any common link format

Regular watch links, youtu.be short links, Shorts, mobile links and YouTube Music links are all accepted. You don't need to trim or edit the address first.

  • Long videos welcome

Hour-long mixes, full lectures and live recordings that have finished streaming all work. There's no cap on length.

  • Nothing kept on our side

Video details and links are fetched live for you and never saved. The file comes straight from YouTube's video servers to your browser.

Which MP3 bitrate to pick

Higher bitrate means fuller sound and a bigger file; here's how the five options compare.

BitrateQualityUse it for
320 kbpsHighest, largest fileMusic on good headphones or speakers
256 kbpsVery highMusic libraries where space still matters
192 kbpsGood, medium fileEveryday listening, car stereo, gym
128 kbpsStandardPodcasts, talks, casual background music
64 kbpsBasic, small fileSpeech only, long lectures, tight storage

An MP3 can't sound better than the original upload, so a muffled source stays muffled at 320 kbps. For interviews and audiobooks, the drop from 192 to 128 or 64 kbps is hard to hear.

Save the MP3 on your device

The steps differ a little depending on what you're using.

  • Android

Open this page in Chrome, paste the link, tap a bitrate, then tap the three-dot menu in the new tab and choose Download. The file shows up in your Downloads folder and in most music apps.

  • iPhone and iPad

Use Safari, paste the link and tap a bitrate. When the audio starts playing, long-press it or use the share menu and choose Download or Save to Files.

  • PC or Mac

Paste the link and click a bitrate. If the audio plays in the tab instead of downloading, right-click the player and choose Save as.

Using a Chromebook or Linux machine? Follow the PC or Mac steps; they're the same in Chrome, Firefox and Edge.

YouTube to MP3 not working? Quick fixes

Most problems come down to one of these four.

  • Link error

Copy the link again straight from the YouTube share button. Make sure nothing extra got pasted before or after it, like text from a chat message or a second link. A cut-off address will also fail, so check that the full link made it into the box.

  • File opens instead of saving

That's expected: the file opens in a new tab and some browsers play it right away. Use the browser menu and choose Download, long-press and pick Save, or right-click and Save as on a computer.

  • Video unavailable

Private, age-restricted, members-only, removed or region-blocked videos may not load. Live streams that are still running won't work until they end. Test with a different public video to see whether the issue is the link or something else.

  • Nothing happens in an in-app browser

Apps like Instagram, Facebook and TikTok open links in their own built-in browser, which often blocks downloads. Use the app menu to open this page in Chrome or Safari and try again.

Still stuck? Refresh the page and paste the link once more. A stale tab is a common cause.

How to use the converter above

Three steps, start to finish.

  1. Paste the link

Copy the video's address from the browser bar or the Share button in the YouTube app, paste it into the box at the top and tap the button.

  2. Pick MP3 or MP4

The tool shows the video's title, length and every available option. Tap an MP3 bitrate for audio only, or an MP4 quality if you want the video with sound.

  3. Save the file

The file opens in a new tab. If it plays instead of downloading, save it from the browser menu, with a long-press, or with right-click and Save as.

YouTube to MP3 FAQ

Is this YouTube to MP3 converter free?

Yes. Every MP3 bitrate and every MP4 quality is free, with no account and no trial period. You only need a browser and the video link.

Where does the MP3 end up after I save it?

On Android it usually lands in the Downloads folder, where music players and file managers can find it. On iPhone and iPad, open the Files app and check Downloads or the folder you picked. On a computer, look in your browser's downloads folder or open the downloads list in the browser menu.

Can I convert YouTube Shorts to MP3?

Yes. Paste the Shorts link exactly as you copied it and the tool treats it like any other video. You can save the audio as MP3 or the clip itself as MP4.

Do long videos work?

Yes. There's no length limit, so full albums, lectures and multi-hour podcasts are fine. Expect a larger file at 320 kbps; for long spoken-word content, 64 or 128 kbps keeps things small without hurting clarity.

Can I save a whole playlist?

No. If you paste a playlist link, only the one video in that link is saved. For more tracks, open each video in the playlist and paste its link separately.

Does it work on iPhone and iPad?

Yes, in Safari or Chrome on iOS and iPadOS, with nothing to install from the App Store. If the audio starts playing in the tab, long-press or open the share menu and choose Download or Save to Files. The saved MP3 then lives in the Files app.

Do you keep the videos or my download history?

No. Video details and links are fetched live for each visit and never stored, and the site hosts no files. Google Analytics and cookies are used only for anonymous visit statistics, and Cloudflare handles hosting and security.

Why does a specific video fail when others work?

The video is probably private, age-restricted, members-only, removed or blocked in some regions. Live streams also fail until the broadcast has ended. If other public videos load fine, the tool is working and that one video is the problem.

Is it legal to convert YouTube videos to MP3?

It depends on the content and who owns it. Only download videos you own, that are in the public domain, that carry a licence allowing it, or that you have permission to save, and keep them for personal use. This site is not affiliated with YouTube or Google.

Do I need to install anything on my computer?

No. It runs in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari or any other modern browser on Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook. No software and no browser extension are involved.
